Instead of scheduling the occasional break <em>from distraction<\/em> so you can focus, you should instead schedule the occasional break <em>from focus<\/em> to give in to distraction. To make this suggestion more concrete, let\u2019s make the simplifying assumption that Internet use is synonymous with seeking distracting stimuli. (You can, of course, use the Internet in a way that\u2019s focused and deep, but for a distraction addict, this is a difficult task.) Similarly, let\u2019s consider working in the absence of the Internet to be synonymous with more focused work.
