It is said that mankind has progressed more in the last two centuries than it has in the last two millenia. And what could be the reason for that? The answer is quite a simple one: Because there are many more of us today compared to the numbers that existed till the 19th century. Is more always merrier? One condition for more to be merrier is that they all need to live in the same city. And why? Because that way, they interact more with each other.
But thanks to the phone and the internet, we do live in one global village, don’t we?
If only this had been true! The world would have been a better place if we did. All that is needed is to have better connections. Assuming that you are one of the 50 people that read this mail, than you would be glad to know that this one to one exchange of ideas that is happening is only one of the 1225 possible exchanges. How many of these exchanges are happening to you?
Feedback promotes more discussions. A simple acknowledgment of an idea that was found useful is encouragement for sending other ideas. A single word in reply serves more than a hundred ‘Likes’ on Facebook. I have been fortunate to have been in direct touch with 50 of you. And I would like to single out two colleagues, interacting with whom, has been fun. Ravinder and Neha. I like the fact that they mail you back. That’s it. Nothing more. Nothing less. Nothing else!
